Acts 1:8 Giving-Judea
Follow the Acts 1:8 principle, the next level of blessing goes to Judea. As I stated in the Financial Planning blog, Judea giving is using finances to build GOD’s kingdom in your community, job, or disciples. These are just a few examples of areas that would be the equivalent of Judea. I want to focus on the area mandated by Jesus in …
the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 28, verse 19 (Mt. 28:19). Here, we are given specific instructions by our Lord to “Go make disciples…” Did you notice this was not a suggestion? Did you also notice none of Jesus’ twelve disciples were His family members? Likewise, I believe our disciples are to be outside of our family members. Our children are in their own separate category.
So as we spend time with our disciples, building the kingdom of GOD, we are giving to Judea. This can happen at sports events, beach trips, ladies’ tea, museums, or a host of other genres. We use our finances as we teach our disciples all things Jesus has taught us. This is an offering, an investment, with a future return.
Jesus’ mandate is not to get converts, but to teach disciples. It requires us building a relationship, and this comes from the GOD who is relational. As we use the Acts 1:8 principle in our giving we will focus on the things that are important to our FATHER who is in heaven.
Remember, this Acts 1:8 giving is not money only. It also includes the giving of our time, energy, and effort. As we rejoice in the nearness of Jesus’ return, let us intentionally use our resources to build His kingdom.
We all should be tithing to Jerusalem, our home church. This will strengthen our faith as we see Jehovah Jireh provide for our needs. Next, we give to Judea, our ministry outside the church. Why? His love compels us to bless others, and we rejoice at the opportunity to partner with the Creator of all that is good.
